Review involves analysis and correction of texts considering particularly their appropriateness for their intended use and compliance with the conventions adopted by a given field. Review is performed on a single language version of the text. If the text has been translated, the reviewer does not compare the translated sentences with the source text, as is done in a revision, but reads the final text as an end reader. The reviewer's task consists of finding and eliminating lexical and grammatical errors as well as improving the style and introducing appropriate vocabulary. Therefore a reviewer should be a person who both knows the language of the reviewed text perfectly, and has considerable specialist knowledge in the relevant area.
Over 35,000 mLingua specialists of various nationalities and specialisations provide a sufficient base for us to find an appropriate reviewer for even the most sophisticated field of nearly any scientific, technical or cultural discipline. Text review is a necessary component of a good translation and a requirement of the European Standard for Translation Services EN 15028:2006. mLingua STANDARD® and PREMIUM® translations include a review of the target text. We also review texts supplied by client in any language, including:
- Scientific articles
- Training materials
- Promotional materials
- Doctoral dissertations
