Certified interpretation is interpretation of an oral statement by a certified translator that is then itself certified with a document confirming its correctness. Certification consists of preparation of a written version of the interpretation, stamping each page of the translation with a seal and recording the certification in a register. In the case of sight interpretation, when the translator reads the translation of a written document aloud, certification involves stamping the document with a seal and having it signed by the translator.

Certified interpretation is usually provided to state institutions such as courts, public offices and prosecutor's offices. mLingua's certified interpreters participate in a range of situations in which the parties use different languages and the translation must be correct for legal reasons, in particular when notarial deeds are read and when agreements are signed, at court hearings, during witness interrogations, shareholders' meetings and trade negotiations.
