|Name:||NZSTI 2015 Wellington Conference|
|Organiser:||The New Zealand Society of Translators and Interpreters|
|Date:||27-28 July 2015|
|Place:||National Library, Wellington|
The main theme of the conference is broadly defined 'conflict': conflicts when dealing with customers, conflict of cultures that can lead to misunderstandings in business negotiations, conflicts when interpreting between opposing parties in court, etc. What kind of stance should translator/interpreter take in these situations? How to deal with machine translations and fuzzy matches, broad range of issues around rates and payment? How to defend own qualifications? The participants will seek the answers for these questions and share with others their knowledge and solutions as to how to resolve situations of conflict.
